In the match against UD Las Palmas, Valencia CF captain José Luis Gayà reached the impressive milestone of 373 official appearances for the club. He enters the club's all-time Top 10 for games played, level with Carlos Arroyo.
Gayà joined the VCF Academy at 11 years of age, and has never left the club since.
Gradually, he grew to become one of the cornerstones of VCF Mestalla.
He made his debut with the first team on October 30th, 2012, in the Copa del Rey match against UE Llagostera.
From that moment on, his growth was exponential, and his importance at Valencia CF increased, with him becoming the second-youngest player (28 years and 289 days) in the club's history to reach 350 official appearances.
The only players with more games for Valencia CF than Gayà are Pep Claramunt (375), Dani Parejo (383), Enrique Saura (400), Santiago Cañizares (416), Manolo Mestre (424), Miguel Ángel Angulo (434), David Albelda (485), Ricardo Arias (521) and Fernando Gómez Colomer (553).
